BIOGRAPHY

It’s essential for me to create something without trying to overthink it. I believe in searching for the abstract expressive self in the process. So it's a constant battle not only with the canvas, but with the brain as well. A complexity of at the same time wanting to expose yourself, and yet not, because painting for me in its core is always a very introverted process.

It's the process that defines everything for me as a painter. This is the space where I want to be all the time. I always set up the next canvas and start instantly after finishing the last painting. Why? It's not the finishing of the painting itself which is important. It's the learning and eagerness to keep developing the painting, to explore it. A process that never ends. I want to find the next level in my expression and in my process as an artist. The searching for simplicity in complexity.

The painting process is a constant self searching process. A constant dealing with doubt in the creation and in the belief of letting go of trying to control the painting and the process. For me abstract painting is the process of painting without thought, and letting the conscious mind be a spectator of the chaos, the subconscious is revealing on the canvas. It’s the letting go of the need to control the creative process.
